| Dear Friends: How did you spend your summer vacation? Kathy went to Florida and I went to North Carolina. We like vacations. We both visited some really nice quilt shops. Last year when I went to California, I was taken to some really nice shops. I even went to Temecula Quilt Company and met the owner, Sheryl Johnson. Her shop is one of Quilt Sampler magazine's Top Ten for 2009. (We now sell both the Quilt Sampler magazine and Quilts and More in the shop.) This year when we went to Quilt Market we met Kathy Skomp of Levender Lime Quilting (another one of Quilt Sampler magazine's Top Ten for 2009), and she was really nice and her books are great too (we carry them). Congratulations to all who competed in the Lorain County Fair. A big Hip! Hip! Hooray! to those who won - Bonnie Bliss and Mary Ann Grayson. Don't you just love thos ribbons? Have you ever gone shopping and lost your mind? Well, I'm sorry to say that happened to me when one of our distributors had an open house on August 23 and 24. They allow you to pick and buy right out of their warehouse. The "Fabric Devil" made me do it! Here's the story: Kathy didn't want to go so I went without her. I managed to cut the number of full carts I had from three down to two. I usually call her when I'm shopping alone, but this time I didn't...it was the "Fabric Devil!" (Paybacks are h _ _ l, Kathy!) We have charm packs, cinnamon rolls, jelly rolls, fat rolls, rectangles, new patterns and books, notions, and of course new fabric. Speaking of fabric, it anyone needs some empty bolts, just let us know and we'll save them for you. If you haven't been in the shop recently, we have a Christmas section which has the Moda Holly Jolly Snowman kits, Secret Santa Stocking kits, Espresso ornaments for both Christmas and Halloween, and FABRIC! Did I mention LOTS OF FABRIC? Our Better Late Than Never Back-to-School Sale is September 25-26 -- mark your calendar! Some good bargains are to be had! The Long Arm Quilters meet at the shop the first Friday of the month at 10:30 a.m. Stash Queens (quilters gather to chat, show n' tell, work on projects, etc.) meet at the shop on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. (All are welcome.) We hope to see you this fall at the following Quilt Shows: October 2-3 Streetsboro Quilt Guild Show November 14-15 Reflections of Nature Quilt Show a tthe Rocky River Nature Center Check out our fall schedule of classes. |
